JUNE DEADLINE FOR BUILDING REGULATIONS APPLICATIONS
When Approved Documents are updated or introduced, the Government puts in place Transitional Provisions specifying when the new regulations come into force.
The key dates are:
When an application (Initial Notice) is received and
When the works start on site.
The new regulations will apply to any project that does not meet both deadlines.
To take advantage of the Transitional Provisions for the new
Part L – Conservation of fuel and power Vol 1 & 2, Part F – Ventilation Vol 1 & 2,
Part O – Overheating, Part S – Infrastructure for charging electric vehicles
Applications must be received before 15th June 2022 and
Work must start on site before 15th June 2023.
For example, for the new Part L:
We expect a high volume of applications leading up to the June 15th deadline; to allow us to process these as efficiently as possible, please submit your application as soon as is convenient.
